As owner of Redhotpepperspray.com, I have a personal experience with Guardian Products. My initial training with pepper spray where I was sprayed in the face was with a BodyGuard 2000 law enforcement pepper spray. This was back in 1994, when pepper sprays were just becoming popular for the civilian market. Guardian Products sprays, which are now owned by Defense Technology, are still the best choice pure pepper sprays for cops and civilians. Their ergonomic canisters, as well as automotive-safe units make them still one of the most popular defense sprays.
Many of the original Guardian Products are no longer available. However, Defense Technology, who owns the rights to Guardian Products, has a great product line that has been at the forefront of the defense spray industry and is very popular with Law Enforcement in the U.S.
